Havana Sport 1515 was created by Christopher Sala. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, his professional background includes experience in financial services, advanced manufacturing and international business, with a focus on foreign direct investment.
His inspiration for Havana Sport 1515 is El Morro Castle in Havana, Cuba. El Morro Castle is one of Havana’s top tourist attractions and one of the most iconic images in Havana. It was built by Italian engineer Juan Bautista Antonelli to guard the entrance to Havana Bay during the period that Cuba was under the control of Spain.
The castle is visible from many places along the Malecon and is open to the public. One can walk freely through the narrow passages and dungeon areas of the castle, and climb right to the edge of the cliffs where the waves crash down below. It's a great place to take photos as the views are breathtaking.
